Plan this track for your schoolOverview
This concentration connects performance with the people and cultural settings behind it. Students learn from Ghanaian practitioners, rehearse together and create work shaped by the exchange.
What students do
- Drumming and rhythm. Learn with a Ghanaian instructor, practise ensemble listening and explore the role of rhythm within the experience being taught.
- Dance and storytelling. Connect movement, narrative and music through a participatory workshop suited to the group's ability.
- Artisan-led making. Try selected cloth printing, weaving or beadwork, with scheduled artisan and market encounters that connect students directly with makers.
- Collaborative showcase. Develop a small performance or creative work with Ghanaian peers and share it at a host-approved gathering.
