NYC to Ghana 2027

Mar 31 – Apr 8, 2027 9 days KT-GH27-NYC

An unforgettable nine-day journey from New York to Ghana, filled with history, culture, connection, and authentic experiences from Accra to Cape Coast.

Do you live in and around New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and the surrounding states, then Ghana is calling. Join Kingdom Africa Tours for an unforgettable nine day journey from New York JFK to beautiful Ghana. Whether this will be your first time on the African continent or a meaningful return, we invite you to experience Ghana in a way that is warm, personal, and deeply connected to its people, history, culture, and heritage. You will not simply arrive as a tourist, you will be welcomed as our guest.

Together, we will experience the vibrant energy of Accra, stand at Independence Square, discover the legacy of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, explore local markets and Ghanaian cuisine, and travel along the coast to historic Cape Coast. There, we will encounter some of the most meaningful chapters of our shared history, including Cape Coast Castle and other important heritage experiences. There will also be time to relax, shop, connect with local communities, enjoy Ghana’s hospitality, and simply experience the country beyond the traditional tourist itinerary.

And you do not have to figure out Ghana by yourself. From the moment our group arrives in Accra, our Ghana based Kingdom Africa Tours team will be there to welcome you, guide you, and journey with you throughout the experience.

Come with friends. Come with family. Come by yourself and become part of the family you meet along the way.

This NYC departure is limited to only 40 travelers, allowing us to keep the experience personal, comfortable, and connected.

If you live in New York City or anywhere throughout the surrounding region, this is your invitation.

Ghana is waiting. Come experience it with Kingdom Africa Tours.

What you need to travel

Everything to have ready before departure. We ask for each of these in your participant portal once you have registered, and we tell you when each one is due — nothing has to be ready today.

  • Passport identification page Required Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond March 15, 2027.
  • Ghana visa Required Required for US passport holders. Apply once your deposit is paid; we send instructions.
  • Yellow fever certificate Required Required for entry. You will be asked for it on arrival in Accra.
  • Flight itinerary Required If you are arranging your own flight, recommended flights departing from your city will be available in your account portal once you register.
  • Emergency contact Required Someone we can reach who is not traveling with you.
  • Travel insurance certificate Only if it applies to you Medical and evacuation cover for the full length of the trip.

Not sure about any of these? Ask us — it is the sort of question we answer every day.

Getting there

Flights that work with the group’s arrival and departure, from the cities travelers usually leave from. You book your own ticket — these are our suggestions, not part of the land tour price.

From New York (JFK)

Delta Air Lines DL156 / DL157 Our pick
Out
Tue Mar 30 · JFK 4:45pm → ACC Wed Mar 31, 7:10am · NONSTOP
Back
Thu Apr 8 · ACC 9:25am → JFK 4:00pm · NONSTOP

Our first choice. Nonstop both ways — no layover and no change of aircraft. About 10h 25m going out and 10h 35m coming back. Search JFK to ACC, depart March 30, return April 8, and take care not to pick a Delta itinerary with a connection when the nonstop DL156 is available.

Book on delta.com
Royal Air Maroc
Out
JFK → Casablanca (CMN) → ACC · ONE connection
Back
ACC → Casablanca (CMN) → JFK · ONE connection

Recommended budget alternative. Often considerably cheaper than Delta, but book it carefully. Do NOT assume that leaving New York on March 30 gets you in on the 31st — search by arrival in Accra on Wednesday, March 31 and open the full details before paying. Do not book it if it lands April 1. Aim for a Casablanca layover of about 2½ to 5 hours, and buy JFK–Casablanca–Accra as one complete ticket.

Book on royalairmaroc.com
TAP Air Portugal
Out
JFK → Lisbon (LIS) → ACC · ONE connection
Back
ACC → Lisbon (LIS) → JFK · ONE connection

Conditional alternative. TAP currently shows JFK departing Tue Mar 30 about 10:05pm and reaching Lisbon Wed Mar 31 about 10:20am — but that is Lisbon, not Ghana. Search the complete JFK to ACC trip, never just JFK to Lisbon, and check that the final line of the itinerary reads Accra ACC, Wednesday, March 31, 2027. Watch the total travel time as well as the fare.

Book on flytap.com
Turkish Airlines
Out
JFK → Istanbul (IST) → ACC · ONE connection
Back
ACC → Istanbul (IST) → JFK · ONE connection

Alternative. A much longer way to Ghana — Istanbul is well out of the way from New York, so the whole journey can run far longer than Delta. Judge it by the final arrival time in ACCRA, not by when you reach Istanbul. Worth it only when the price, the schedule or your own preference justifies the extra hours. Buy the whole journey as one ticket.

Book on turkishairlines.com

Airlines change their schedules and their fares without notice, so check both on the airline’s own page before you book. Once you have registered, your participant portal carries the full booking instructions for this trip — how to book, what the baggage allowance is, and where the group meets.
